PC Privacy Policy
The short version
This site has no accounts, no sign-ups and no comment forms. The tools on this site (the code lookup and the Warning Checker) run entirely in your browser — what you type or answer is never sent to us. We use privacy-respecting analytics to see which pages help people, in aggregate. If you email us, we keep your email only to reply.
What is collected
- Analytics. Anonymous, aggregate statistics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) via Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics, used to decide which guides to improve. Google Analytics sets cookies for this purpose; you can block them in your browser without affecting the site.
- Server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested — for security and reliability, for a limited period.
- Email. If you write to contact@pcerrorcodes.com, your address and message are used only to respond and are not sold or shared.
What is never collected
We never ask for, and you should never send us, passwords, PINs, BitLocker recovery keys, verification codes, or payment details. No page or form on this site will ever request them.
Advertising
At launch this site carries no advertising. If advertising is introduced later, this policy will be updated first, the ad network's use of cookies will be described here, and a consent notice will be shown where the law requires one.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. To ask what email correspondence we hold from you, or to have it deleted, write to us via Contact.
